Hi there! My name is Katie Russell and I have the privilege of being King's Building Literacy Coach (BLC). As the BLC, I will provide reading intervention to many remarkable King students and support literacy instruction throughout the school. I graduated from Michigan State University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. I also earned a Master's of Reading from Eastern Michigan University in 2014. This will be my fourteenth year of teaching. Before coming to King, I taught for three years at a charter school in Ypsilanti. I'm really looking forward to another great school year with the students, staff, and parents here at King!

When I'm not at school, I am at my home in South Lyon with my almost-3-year-old, Mackenzie, husband, Daniel and crazy cats, Oliver and Callie. I absolutely love baking, reading, traveling to new places, and cheering on my Spartans during football games. I feel extremely lucky to have such a wonderful family and a job that I love!
