Ann Arbor Public Schools has two programs available for our youngest learners:

年轻的5 s - The 年轻的5 s program is an optional opportunity for those students who meet the 年龄 criteria for entrance. The 年轻的5 s program is a district-wide program and enrollment is limited to space availability. As such, enrollment is not guaranteed at neighborhood schools. If you're interested in our 年轻的5 s program for your student, we highly encour年龄 families to apply at the earliest opportunity.

• For the 2024-25 school year, students must turn five years old between May 1 - December 1, 2024.
• Neighborhood applications for the 2024-25 academic year are 现在有时间. 首选学校 applications will be available from May 29 - June 27, 2024 for 年轻的5 s at schools with space availability.

幼儿园 - For children who turn 5 on or before December 1 of that academic year.

• For the 2024-25 academic year, eligible students are born on or before December 1, 2019. There are no exceptions to this date.
• All day kindergarten consists of daily literacy, mathematics, science and social studies instruction.
• 招生 is guaranteed for a student's zoned school.
• Neighborhood pre-enrollment for kindergarten for the 2024-25 academic year is available. 首选学校 applications will be available from May 29 - June 27, 2024 for kindergarten at schools with space availability.

每年, each K-5 and K-8 school holds informational sessions for parents who would like to know more about 年轻的5 s and kindergarten. 这些“抓捕" are typically held in February for the upcoming academic year, and we encour年龄 families to place a reminder on their calendars to check our website in mid-January.
